Illinois Contractor

Are you an Illinois Roofing Contractor?

Illinois requires roofing contractors to pass an exam to obtain a license to work in the state.

Illinois requires the following roofing licenses depending on what type of work your company intends to offer:
  • Residential (Limited License)
  • Residential, Commercial and Industrial (Unlimited License)
  • Commercial/Industrial (Candidate must pass the Residential exam before taking this exam)
For more information about licensing from the Illinois Department of Financial & Professional Regulation, click here.

There are several companies in Illinois that administer the test, including Continental Testing Services. For more information about the exam and upcoming exam dates from Continental Testing, click here.

Although NRCA doesn't administer the test, it does publish the study materials you will need to prepare for the exam, including: NRCA has a list of the suggested study areas from each publication: To order these publications, you can click here to download the Illinois Contractor Order Form and order them for the NRCA nonmember price of $2,162.42, which includes tax and shipping.

Are you interested in joining NRCA? If you join, you will receive these publications at a special new member price.

If you'd like to explore membership—which includes education opportunities, legal resources and technical information—please call (800) 323-9545.

If you have any questions regarding the publications or NRCA membership, please contact NRCA Customer Service Department at (866) ASK-NRCA (275-6722) or info@nrca.net.

Note: There are other companies on the Internet that sell our publications, but NRCA is the ONLY official author of the publications used for the Illinois exam. Purchasing these study materials does not guarantee you will pass the exam.
